Substitute School NursePosition Type: SubstituteLocation: Dakota CUSD #201Compensation: $205 per dayThis position is not eligible for benefits.Position Summary Dakota CUSD #201 is seeking qualified Substitute School Nurses to provide health services and support to students during the absence of the regularly assigned school nurse. The substitute nurse helps maintain a safe and healthy school environment by addressing student health needs, administering medications as authorized, responding to medical situations, and maintaining accurate health records in accordance with district policies and Illinois State Board of Education requirements.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesProvide nursing services to students in accordance with Illinois school health regulations and district proceduresAssess and respond to student illnesses, injuries, and health concernsAdminister medications and treatments as authorized by physician orders and parent/guardian consentMaintain accurate student health documentation and confidentiality of recordsCommunicate with school staff, parents/guardians, and medical providers as appropriateAssist with management of chronic health conditions and emergency care plansParticipate in emergency response and crisis situations as neededEnsure compliance with state health requirements and district policiesPerform other duties as assigned related to student health servicesQualificationsCurrent Illinois Registered Professional Nurse (RN) license requiredIllinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with School Nurse endorsement preferred, or qualifications consistent with Illinois substitute school nurse requirementsCurrent CPR/AED certification preferredAbility to work effectively with students, staff, families, and administratorsStrong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skillsWorking ConditionsSchool setting with frequent interaction with students, staff, and familiesAbility to respond to medical emergencies and student health needs throughout the school dayEqual Opportunity Employer Dakota CUSD #201 is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
